A bit of an update.
Depending on if I push this you might start seeing some improvements in how the site looks. That all depends on if I find the time to fix all the broken things and push the changes to github which is how they automagically end up being served to the world.
The good news is the car is back on the road (hopefully) given it's spent more of the last 8 weeks since it got a brand new MOT off the road and still hasn't done ten miles on the two new tyres that wiped us out financially before Christmas this is good news.
The bad news is I didn't manage to do the Great British Bird Off (RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch) because I was under the car for all the time you're meant to find an hour to do the watch trying to remove enough 20 year old bolts to remove the powersteering pump, alternator and a bunch of other little bits to get to a single M8 nut to remove a part to replace which then needed the drivers side of the engine unbolting to it could be removed past the frame. At least, if I can afford some diesel and my joints start working again, I can do more than walk to Bentley Bridge or the Mother in Laws and get to see some of my favourite places in early spring as the birds are already starting to pair off and the snowdrops are flowering.
I should also have working hands and awake enough to work on the site as well as see things that I can document here.
I've signed up for a new activity pub account centred around a Mastodon account (@naturepunk@ecoevo.social) to be part of the extended blog eco system. I let my former server die a death because I couldn't get around to maintaining it. I might try and limit this account to Green stuff (plus politics, maker and folklore stuff as appropriate) and create a different account elsewhere to link up with my gaming and game dev folks again. There is also potential that I might expand into other sites and social media. I don't feel like rejoining the arguments on X 15 year old account is dormant over there for obvious reasons.
Anyway, while giving the car a test drive this morning, hearing aids in and all, driving along Wednesfield Way over the final of what I call the Three Bridges in my field reports I spotted 8 Canada Geese chilling along the canal towards Bentley Bridge. Might as well record their number as I keep an eye on their success over the year. Not least because they are the closest Geese to home :)
